ending world hunger — one cow at a time

Count the cows on the front lawn – each one represents $500 donated to world hunger. Find out more about the Cow Challenge and ELCA World Hunger on a handout by the church offices, or go to redeemeronline.net. Also note, gifts this year to WH will be matched.  Raised through July 29 - $$4,382!  Enough for eight cows!


TEMPORARY POSITION — august & september

Our sexton, Scott Bellows will be out of work for knee surgery from mid-August to at least Sept. 10. We are looking for a substitute custodian/sexton. The hours are somewhat flexible and would need to be worked out with Kathy Fiscella in the church office.  After Labor Day, when school opens, the needs are 5 days a week.  Please contact Kathy at 973-584-6300 or kathy.fiscella@gmail.com for more information.


permanent position — Parish Secretary

We regret our Parish Secretary, Pamela Appleton will be leaving due to family obligations. Redeemer is looking to hire a part-time parish secretary. Duties include general clerical duties like preparing the weekly bulletins and PowerPoint, and maintaining the membership data base.  This is an hourly position, 12 to 16 hours per week. Must have business office experience, be proficient in Microsoft Office and have strong organizational skills. Contact  the church office for a copy of the job description or to submit your resume.



Kitchen reno begins August 13

Along with new cabinets and counters for the big kitchen, a water cooler will be installed in the fellowship hall on August 7, and necessary repairs will be made to HVAC systems and sections of the parking lots.  The BOF fund pays for building repairs and renovations not financed in general operating expenses. Please consider making a donation to Build on Faith. Any gift, no matter the amount, is appreciated. Mark your donation “Build on Faith” and place in the offering, mail to the church office, or give online at www.redeemeronline.net/give.

Last week’s picnic was a success, not just because of the wonderful weather, but due to the hard work of many people, especially organizers Wendy Bilbao, Kristina and Brian Thor. Thanks everyone who attended and pitched in to help.  Thanks also to John and Diane Unger who tackled the weeds last Friday. What a monumental task!!
