I am a graduate of the Institute for Spiritual Formation and have been practicing spiritual direction since 2004. I consider it a great privilege to help my directees discern the work of the Holy Spirit and their responses.
I am currently finishing my PhD, focusing on spiritual theology and the history of Christian spirituality. I love learning from the classics of Christian spirituality, and I’ve surprised again and again at how God has used them to shape my own life and ministry.
I have taught as an adjunct at Biola University and Whittier College in the areas of spiritual theology & formation, ethics, and religious studies. I also serve as a Council member of the Evangelical Center for Spiritual Wisdom.

I am a spiritual director with The Leadership Institute, serving lay leaders, missionaries and pastors through spiritual direction and retreats. As a graduate of Talbot School of Theology’s Spiritual Formation Program, I have a passion to see people grow in their walk with the Lord as they realize more of who they are now and see who the Lord wants them to be. I have been a spiritual director in the north Orange County area since 2006. My wife, Jennifer, and I have been married since 2002 and have recently welcomed our daughter into our home. I received my training in spiritual direction as well as an MA in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care from Talbot School of Theology. I have been offering Spiritual Direction since 2005 at the Institute For Spiritual Formation and at the Center For Individual and Family Therapy. I have been trained to lead others through the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises. Each person’s story is amazing and God has given me opportunities to journey with a variety of precious individuals including those struggling with sexual brokenness, leading retreats with a variety of marginalized individuals, missionaries that care for orphans in Romania, and overseeing a spiritual direction ministry at a local church. I have been married to my college sweetheart for over 35 years and we have had the privilege of raising 3 unique children who are now young adults. In my free time I like to sail, hike, read, dance, and play with art.

I received my M.A and training in Spiritual Direction at the Institute for Spiritual Formation at Talbot School of Theology. I currently give individual and group spiritual direction at the Center for Spiritual Renewal at Biola University. I am trained to lead groups and individuals through the Ignatian spiritual exercises via Journey with Jesus by Larry Warner. I love journeying with others as they discover the limitlessness of God’s love, redemption and restoration. My specific areas of interest include: God image, self image, body image, and the way our family and upbringing influence our relationship with God. I am originally from a small town in San Luis Obispo county but have been in the Los Angeles/Orange County Area since 2002. When not directing I enjoy hiking, singing, cooking, drawing, and any location covered with trees.

I graduated from the Institute for Spiritual Formation at Talbot Theological Seminary in May 2010. During my time there I received training in spiritual direction and found it to be such a lovely way in which to journey with others. I currently offer individual and group direction for men and women, and also am available for chapel and retreat planning. My interests lie in helping others to freely approach the Lord, bringing this honesty into community, and creativity for the non-artist. I work for Biola University, offering spiritual direction as well as providing administrative support for the career development center. I live in La Habra, California and thoroughly enjoy engaging in beauty: the company of good friends, interesting films, flavorful meals, reading a book, listening to a podcast or music, and a rich cup of coffee.

As a spiritual director, I love cultivating a safe, welcoming space, for believers to come and begin journeying deeper into knowing God and how He interacts with one’s soul. One of my greatest joys is seeing a believer move into greater freedom in the Spirit, with a deepening awareness of the Father’s love.

I completed my Spiritual Direction training while earning a Master of Divinity degree at Talbot School of Theology, in La Mirada, CA.
I enjoy creating a safe and welcoming environment for others to discover their heart. As people discover their heart, we can partner together to discern where the love God is being offered to them in that moment.
Over the past 11 years I have served in ministry positions in Cru (formerly known as Campus Crusade for Christ), the local church, and at Biola University. During this time, I have both experienced and wrestled with the isolation that is often created within a leadership and/or ministry position. Like me, others in similar situations need relationships where they can feel safe enough to explore their own heart and confront any doubts, fears, and struggles with God that might be present.
I want to partner with others, so that they no longer ignore the state of their heart, and so that they can recognize and open to those places where our loving God is at work in their heart. As I have experienced the benefit of safe places to explore my own heart with God, I am thrilled to be able to provide a place of safety for men and women to open more fully to God as well.
I’ve been married to Heidi since 2004, and we have two children. I love going on dates with my wife, spending extended time in the outdoors, and building sand castles with my kids.
