Serve as the Vaccines For Children Program Coordinator for the State of North Carolina and manage vaccine distribution to 1,300 medical providers throughout the state. Oversee physician recruitment, program accountability, and financial restitution for wasted or misused vaccine. Coordinate Immunization Branch customer service efforts to meet the needs of citizens, providers, vaccine manufacturers, and multiple professional societies. Supervise the Help Desk hotline providing doctors and nurses with distribution assistance and technical support for the North Carolina Immunization Registry.

Responsible for the overall management of the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Immunization Information Hotline, a hotline serving up to 20,000 healthcare providers, parents, and patients per month with information on vaccine preventable diseases, vaccine safety, immunization recommendations, and barriers to vaccination. Oversee budget, contract management, and promotional services. Recruit, hire, and supervise health communication specialists and hotline management staff. Collaborate with diverse teams for the coordination of training programs, quality assurance program, and information coordination. Manage projects for the consolidation of four national health hotlines, overseeing communication, technology, and management of hotline messages and content. Coordinated the expansion of the Hotline due to 2004 influenza crisis, doubling the hours of service and increasing the budget and staffing by a factor of three.

Chaired the Record Review committee (part of Continuous Quality Improvement) and worked on several other committees, including Peer Review, the Staff Development Picnic Committee, and the Client Christmas Party Committee. Attended weekly supervision meetings with independently licensed social workers.

Duties included maintaining technological needs and a website representing eleven different areas within the Department of Recreational Sports and provided support for Windows 95/98, MS Word, MS Excel, SPSS, Netscape, and Eudora Mail. Also served as the Graduate Administrative Associate of Aquatics; hiring, training, and managing a staff of approximately ninety lifeguards and fifteen aquatic supervisors. Areas of responsibility included payroll, staff scheduling, manual revision, meet management, special events planning, and heading the Family Recreational Instruction Program (FRIP), a weekly sports program for community youth and families.
