Here's how to change your Apple ID password using two-factor authentication on a Mac desktop or laptop computer:

  • From the Apple menu, select System Preferences.
  • In macOS Catalina (10.15), select Apple ID > Password & Security, then select Change Password.
  • In macOS Mojave (10.14) or earlier, select iCloud > Account Details > Security, then select Change Password.
  • To continue, authenticate yourself by entering the password you use to log in to your Mac.
