1/2 green pepper, chopped
1/2 onion, chopped
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1 cup milk
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1 Tablespoon butter
1 egg, beaten
2 cups whole kernel corn.
Brown the chopped peppers and onion in a skillet for 5 minutes.
Add the flour, salt, paprika and mustard to the skillet and stir till blended.
Add the cup of milk and stir until thickened.
Add the bread crumbs, corn and egg to the thickened mixture.
Pour into a buttered casserole dish and bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
To make this work with other recipes, I more often bake it at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.
