Garlicky Black Pepper Tortilla Chips

1 pkg corn tortillas                    Please use Ctrl + P to print
oil for frying
6 large garlic cloves, pressed
1/2 tsp black pepper
3 T Kosher salt

Mix pressed garlic, salt, and pepper with a fork and set aside. Heat oil to 375F. Stack tortillas and cut into 8 wedges and separate. In batches, fry tortillas until crisp, about one minute. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels, then toss chips into a brown paper bag. Continue until all tortillas have been used and put into the bag. Pour the salt mixture into the bag and shake gently to distribute. Lay chips on a baking sheet and bake at 325F for 10 minutes. Serve with your favorite salsa.
