(Letterboxing is an intriguing “treasure hunt” style outdoor activity. Letterboxers hide small, weatherproof boxes in publicly-accessible places (like parks) and post clues to finding the box online on one of several Web sites. However, clues to finding some of the most highly-sought boxes are passed around by word of mouth.-from

Letterboxing - Town Forest

Troop 75303 has created a letter box in the Reading Town Forest.   It is located close to the group camp site and the directions can be found here:

This is a perfect hike activity to do with your troops, and you can create small hike journals during a previous meeting and put the stamp from the letter box in your journals.   The end of the hike is at our Kindness Rocks Garden which is located just off the Wood End entrance road by the Town Forest Trail head. We hope you will visit the Kindness Rocks Garden, and the letter box!

Letterboxing - Downtown Reading

Troop 62777 has hidden a letterbox in downtown Reading and invites other troops to search for it. We hope that you'll visit some local businesses along the way. Clues may be found here LetterboxClues62777.pdf and a template for a letterboxing passport with folding instructions here LetterboxPassport.pdf and Letterboxer Passport Folding Instructions.docx

Don't forget to stamp the notebook when you find the letterbox!

End date for this letterbox is May 31, 2018
