Topic 1: Do we need the IRCLCA?

Do you think there is a need for the IRCLCA?

The Working Group (WG) has started its work with a discussion on this.

In case the conclusion is yes, we will move on to define what "What do we want the IRCLCA to be?".

Initial reasons submitted for why we need the IRCLCA:

- Help promoting the class world wide

- Gather information on the class world wide and supervise the development of the class as well as providing information on where the boat is sailed, contact persons in each district and so on

- Encourage districts to form their own district associations

- Provide by-laws for district associations to help districts associations with the above

- Provide rules for hosting world and regional championships to allow for these championships to be held and insure fair competition

- Allocate world and regional championships

- Play an active role in the process of maintaining the class rules

- It is necessary to have an international organisation in case we want the class to be recognized by the ISAF

- International communications and organization should be the main objectives
