The Library Media Center offers free drop-in tutoring and homework help to all students every Monday and Wednesday afternoon from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m.
Our program is staffed by volunteer W&L students. There is no sign-up to use the drop-in tutoring program. Students wishing to receive help need to report to the library directly after seventh period and sign-in at the front desk. Students need to have transportation as the library closes at 4:15 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. All students attending tutoring will receive a "proof of attendance slip". Currently there are tutors in all levels of math, English, history, Spanish with more being added daily. Updates will be coming as we add more tutors.
As Washington and Lee students leave for winter break, I would just like to take a moment to thank them for their hours of volunteer service this semester spent tutoring RCHS students. Second semester tutoring sessions will being on Monday, January 12th. They will run from 3:30 to 4:30 in the library Mon-Wed. In the interim, the library will support students with volunteer homework help.
With the Washington & Lee tutors on break, there will be no after school tutoring Monday or Tuesday, 11/24 and 11/25. The library will close at 3:30 PM both days.
Beginning this week we will have the addition of foreign language tutors. Spanish tutors are here TUESDAYS. French and Chinese tutors are here TUESDAYS and WEDNESDAYS.
We have added tutors in French, Economics, Geography, and ACT. Check out the updated list that is attached.
Monday, September 22 will mark the start of our Washington and Lee tutors’ sessions in the RCHS library. The fall sessions will run through December 10th with no tutoring the week of Thanksgiving.
Tutoring sessions are held Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoons from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the RCHS library under the supervision of the library staff. Subjects range from math and science to humanities and even SAT preparation.
Students will receive a dated “completion slip” as proof of their attendance signed by their respective tutor. If you would like your student to receive tutoring services, you need only to arrange their transportation since the library closes promptly at 4:30 p.m. Students should arrive at the library after 7th period and sign-in at the library front desk no later than 3:30 PM. They should have their books and assignments for the subjects they wish to work on.

Tutoring for the Spring term will begin on April 21st. Tutors will be available Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday in the library media center from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM. SAT and ACT Prep help will also be offered on this schedule.
Due to parent-teacher conferences, the library will be closing at 3:30 on Thursday 11/14 and there will be no after school tutoring. if you have students who regularly stay for tutoring, please remind them of this. Thank you!
