Paddling Conference and AGM/IAGM - May 5-7, 2017

The Recreational Canoeing Association of British Columbia                                                is hosting its eighth annual Paddling Conference!

There will be workshops and sessions for everyone from new paddlers to experts!          Non-members are also welcome to attend:
  • On the water sessions, from basic paddling and rescues, to big boat (voyageur canoe) lessons and stroke refreshers
  • Presentations on canoe trips, environmental issues, and more
  • Workshops on gear, food, and themes such as canoe songs, starting a small business, yoga...
  • Guided nature walks to the Othello Tunnels and Lake Kawkawa
  • Social time, square dancing, and other entertainment
There will also be instructor clinics offered at excellent discounted rates:
  • Lakewater Instructor Recert (Friday) - $90
  • Instructor Examiner Clinic - depending on demand (Friday) - $90
  • NEW THIS YEAR!  Stand Up Paddle Boarding Instructor Clinic (Friday or Saturday ) - NOW FREE!

Annual General Meeting and Instructor Annual General Meeting

Both the Annual General Meeting and the Instructor Annual General Meeting will take place during the weekend as well. Many important issues are being considered this year including amendments to our constitution and the introduction of our new SUP and Canoe Guiding Programs. 

  • The AGM will be held on Saturday May 5th from 6:30 - 8:30 pm (Open to all, but members only vote)
  • The Instructor AGM will be held on Sunday morning from 9:00am - 11:00am (Instructor themes)

Registration Dates
  • Registration opens March 15th  
  • Early Bird Pricing is available until April 10th 
  • Registration closes April 25th!

Run a session! Or two!  

We're looking for people willing to run sessions!  Let us know via the registration form by April 10th (Early Bird Deadline), so we can plan our schedule.  Travel subsidies are offered for those volunteers ready to lead or assist in at least two sessions. 

We Need Help Gathering Donations!! 

Each year, we collect donations from different retailers.  We use these as door prizes as well as to give acknowledgments to our conference volunteers and to those who help RCABC throughout the year.  We could really use some help in this integral part of our organizing.  See link below for more information or contact:
