RBCS
is a friendly non-audition mixed-voice amateur choir based
in Rotherhithe, Southwark, south-east London. Our aim is to practise and perform
good music to suit a variety of tastes, and have a good time in the process. We meet from 8.00 to 9.45 pm every Tuesday during term-time at the
Time & Talents community centre, St Marychurch Street, Rotherhithe, SE16 4JE. Additional members are always welcome for all voice parts.
If you
enjoy singing and are interested in joining us, please email us by clicking here, or just come along to our next rehearsal.
Summer term 2011 ends on 12 July. We'll be back on Tuesday 13 September with a programme including Charpentier's lovely
Messe de Minuit pour Noël and other seasonal music, old and new.

    Our latest concert
    showcased the music of
    illustrious South Londoner

    Samuel Coleridge-Taylor
    (1875-1912), who was
    recently voted one of the
    100 Great Black Britons
    of all time.

    Coleridge-Taylor conquered
    prejudice and adversity to
    become an internationally
    respected composer
.

    His breakthrough came with
    the choral masterpiece

    Hiawatha's Wedding Fea
st
    (1898), based on Longfellow's
    epic
Song of Hiawatha.
