2017-2018 Reflections Program - "Within Reach"

The PTA Reflections Program is designed to enhance a quality arts education by providing an opportunity for students to explore their artistic talents and receive positive recognition for their efforts.

Students participate in the Reflections Program by submitting entries to their schools’ local PTA. In Virginia and nationally, the program has six arts areas—dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and visual arts (including 3D entries for the first time this year)—and four grade divisions—Primary (K-2), Intermediate (3-5), Middle School (6-8), and High School (9-12).

The Laurel Lane Elementary PTA's submission deadline is October 12, 2017. Studio time will be available in the Laurel Lane Elementary Art Room.  Dates and times to be determined and announced later. Look for more information regarding the Art Studio time to come home in Penguin Folders. No transportation will be provided, so parents should plan to pick up their child promptly. A signed permission form is required to participate in the Art Studios.

For more information about the program, please contact Alice Jacobs, 757-814-0429, the '17-'18 PTA Arts & Awards Vice President.

2019-2020 Reflections Program Theme Search

The search is on for the 2019-2020 National PTA Reflections program theme!  The student who submits the winning entry will receive $100, and their theme will be announced at the Annual National PTA Convention and Exhibition. For more information on how to enter, contact the VAPTA. Submit the Theme Search Entry Form to Virginia PTA by November 24, 2017.  Each local unit may submit up to five (5) student submission forms to the Virginia PTA.
