At the General Assembly there will be an election of officers. Currently we have one opening on the Board, however, all Board positions are to be voted on and anyone wishing to participate on the Board is welcome and encouraged to run.
The General Assembly will close by 6:45 at the latest as the Board will attend a City Council meeting to hear the vote on moving the league into Ravenswood. Barring any changes to the Board, a vote has been passed to move the league into Ravenswood behind the lagoons. There will be significant work to do over the summer to get the fields ready for the fall. If you would like to volunteer or know anyone who would like to volunteer, please let me know. It is our goal to have crowned fields for drainage, city maintained mowing of the general area (we will have to finish mow the actual fields), increased fields for play and a gravel parking lot. Long term, we would intend to build a concession stand and focus on running some tournaments our of Ravenswood. The goals are ambitious, but attainable.
Also, each coach will need to return the league owned equipment at the General Assembly. This will be for the officers to store and take inventory so we understand the needs of the league going into the fall and can make purchases prior to the start of the season. We hope each of you will intend to coach in the fall, however, I know at least two coaches who will be unable to do so. If you will agree to volunteer your time again next year, please let us know for what age group you will coach so we can prepare to recruit for any uncovered teams.
In addition, pictures will be distributed to the coach's along with trophies to the coaches.
Thanks for your help with the league this year. It's your volunteer work
that makes the league a success for the children.
