Ravensbourne School is a small school, situated on the western side of the Otago Harbour.  We pride ourselves on
being a family-orientated school. We have a number of children from different cultures, who are easily accepted as part of the school community.
The school values are Respect, Resilience and Responsibility. Each student will learn the value of these and apply them to everything they do.

Ravensbourne students are confident, independent and exhibit a positive attitude to their education, embracing e-learning as an integral component.  Strengths in Literacy and Numeracy are important and will enable them to question and problem solve with confidence.
Children have access to a range of computers, i-pads, and cameras.  A parabolic speaker and sound system has been installed giving children a greater opportunity to improve literacy through listening to books and CD's.

Opportunities for sporting and cultural activities are available and strong links with other schools provide for regular inter-school exchanges.

We are a healthy heart school and have a silver award for this, we also gained a Bronze award in Enviro schools.

We are currently looking at Strengths of Character and linking them to our Key Competencies and Values.  We are working on Fairness, Teamwork and Creativity.  We have introduced a 'Citizenship Trophy', this is presented weekly at assembly to the student who shows overall 'fairness and teamwork'.  We also have a shield for 'cleanest classroom', this is presented to the deserving class weekly at assembly.

The school has had major refurbishments over the years with a new library/technology space, providing a large and well resourced space for children to learn. In 2011 we  introduced Discovery Time where children experiment with a variety of different technologies and resources.
