Knuston Hall Day Course: Saturday 14 May 2016
'Pick up the uke and play in a day!'

Aimed at total beginners, this fun and light-hearted course will have you playing the ukulele (uke!) in no time at all. Starting with the absolute basics, you will learn how to play through a variety of different sessions, some led by the tutor, others in small break-out groups. By the end of the course you will be able to play a variety of chords and songs as part of our own mini orchestra! Please note that participants must bring their own ukulele (soprano or concert recommended).

£62 for the day

Knuston Hall Weekend Residential
'Pick up the uke and play!'

This weekend residential will be aimed at total beginners, no prior experience of playing knowledge is needed. This is the ideal course if you have got a ukulele that has been sitting in the corner collecting dust for months on end, or you have always wanted to play. The course will light hearted and fun, by the end you will be able to play and sing and will most definitely have caught the ukulele bug!

Over the course of the three days there will be 11 guided learning hours over 9 sessions. These will vary between tutor led sessions by me showing you the basics and then progressing from there, small group break out sessions with tutor support and then mini performances which we will do to ourselves. You will need to bring your own soprano or concert ukulele, a music stand would also be useful. A concert ukulele is the next size up from the soprano and good if you have bigger fingers.

Knuston Hall is an adult education centre set in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside. The course includes full board accommodation and a comfortable hotel room.
Prices:
£286: Full board, single ensuite room
£252: Full board, shared ensuite room

Knuston Hall Day Course
'Ukulele Jam Session'

This will be a fun and relaxed day of playing the uke and jamming with a group of equally enthusiastic players.  You’ll already be able to play the uke to a basic standard (know some basic chords and strumming patterns) so we’ll start with some songs that get us playing together and then gradually move on to more challenging songs that introduce you to new chords and techniques. We’ll spend the sessions together as a group, but the relaxed pace will allow you to have time to get to grips with what we learn.

£62 for the day

Private Lessons
Got a ukulele lying around? Always wanted to learn play?

There is never a better time to learn to play than now. You can learn by yourself or with a friend or two over a time frame that suits you. Half an hour a week is a great way to start, if with a friend then an hour is even better as it gives you both the time you need. Initially we'll start to learn some basic chords and learn some simple songs, within a matter of minutes you'll be singing and strumming! We can then take this in the way you want to learn, whether it be expanding your knowledge of chords or learning to pick a tune.
Then if you get the bug (which is hard not to!) you can continue your new passion and join us in the Ukulele Orchestra!
