I am president of the Norwegian Demographic Society (www.demografi.no).
I lead the Commission of declining birth rates and public support to families (Fødselstallsutvalget). We were appointed by the Ministry of Families and Children in August 2024, and will deliver our final report (NOU) in 2026. More information on the work of the commision is found here.
My research revolves around health, fertility and policy. I work with both quantitative and qualitative methods. I have experise in administrative data, and causal identification using quasi-experimental techniques.
