Rangmahal Films is a Dhaka based media house. we make films, TV programmes, commercials and all sort of video production. we give technical support to other productions. Rangmahal also supports activist films through technical support. Rangmahal films has been working in the field since 1999.

Paul James Gomes

Paul is working as a producer/ cameraman since 1999. he made documentary films, TV commercials and corporate videos. He worked as cameraman for BBC production, Al Jazeera TV, Dutch National Television, RAW TV, Swiss National Television, Heinemann Media and Tara News. He recently produced a development documentary video for GTZ (German Technical Cooperation). He studied Anthropology from Jahangirnagar University, and received professional training on film making from various institutes.

Rural Infrastructure Improvement Project (RIIP) is a development project  to help reduce poverty through economic activity and infrastructure building in Barishal and Khulna division in Bangladesh. RIIP is being implemented by LGED, with help from ADB and GTZ.

 Life and Work of Painter Murtaza Baseer (DV Cam/ 20 min / 2005)
Murtaza Baseer is one the pioneer painters of Bangladesh. The film shows his 55 years of works and his views in his work. 

Milk Vita Liquid Milk (Beta SP/ 30 sec/ 2004)
A television advertisement for Milk Vita Co-operative Society.

Chobi Mela -3 (DV Cam/ 40 sec / 2004)
A TV Commercial for Chobi Mela, the world famous ‘International Festival of Photography’ organized by Drik Picture Library with international partners like Prince Claus Fund, Cannon, Unicef and foreign cultural centers.

 The Mobile Art Gallery &Tale of One R.K. Das (Beta SP/ 25 min/ 2002)       R.K. Das the major rickshaw painter ofDhaka city is the protagonist of the film. His life, work, family and the present situation of the profession are the subject of the film. The film also takes a journey through the rickshaw paintings.

 Older Women in Bangladesh (Beta SP/ 21 min/ 2001)
This was a Development Film for an NGO (B.W.H.C). The film shows the crisis situation of the older women in society.

Charukolay Nari Model (Beta SP/ 7 min/ 2001)
The film interviews two female models at the Fine Arts Institute and shows how they get along with this work and the problem they face.

Work Experience in Foreign Production:

Have worked as a Cameraman in a programme for BBC called HANDS ON for Romaine, Producer, TVE, LONDON in 2004.

Have worked as local coordinator for TVE, LONDON in 2004.

Have worked as a cameraman for Nicholas Haque, Producer, RAW TV, LONDON in 2006.

Have worked as a Cameraman with Arnob Chakrabarti, Producer, Dutch Muslim Broadcasting Corporation (NMO) for The Dutch public television (Nederland 2) in 2006.

Have worked in the TV programme TARA SHUNDORI for TARA NEWS, INDIA with Reshmi Roy, Producer in 2006.

Have worked with Tom Heinemann of Heinemann Media, a Danish media company working for SVT, Sweden - DR, Denmark and NRK, Norway in 2007 & 2008.

Have worked with Nicolas Haque of Al Jazeera TV on several news reports in 2008 & 2009.

 Film Festival:

The Mobile Art Gallery &Tale of One R.K. Das (Beta SP/ 25 min/ 2002) participated in the 8th International Short and Independent Film Festival, Dhaka 2003, organized by Short Film Forum. 

Life and Work of Painter Murtaza Baseer (DV Cam/ 20 min / 2005) participated in the 2nd Documentary Festival, Dhaka 2007, organized by Bangladesh Documentary Council.
