3 firm tofu
1 leek, greens removed
6 shitake mushrooms
6 white button mushrooms
2 Korean fish cakes
1/2 lb short ribs, separated into individual ribs
5 leaves of nappa
Sukiyaki sauce
1/2 cup sake
1/4 cup mirin, sweet cooking sake
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar


1. Cut tofu into 1/2-inch slices, shitake mushrooms into quarters, nappa and leek into 2-inch slices.

2. In a large soup pot, combine all the ingredients for the sukiyaki sauce and stir until sugar dissolved.

3. Boil sauce and add in all the remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer for 30 mins or until all the ingredients are cooked.
