SPECIAL MEETING/PUBLIC HEARINGS

RANDOLPH TOWNSHIP

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, the Planning Commission of Randolph Township has scheduled a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at the Randolph City Hall. The purpose of the special meeting is to hold a series of public hearings and consider recommendations to the Town Board regarding action items in each public hearing. The Town Board may be in attendance at the special meeting. The regular meeting of the Planning Commission will follow the public hearings.

 

Hearing #1. The purpose of this hearing is to consider issuing an Interim Use Permit to FastSun 2, LLC for a 1 MW wholesale solar electric system on a portion of a 33-acre parcel, located at 291XX Felton Avenue, on property legally described as the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 10, Township 112, Range 18, lying north of the CNW railroad and east of Felton Avenue.

 

Hearing #2. The purpose of this hearing is to consider the Variance application from Mark and Danita Kocer, 29537 Gerlach Way, to allow the addition of an attached garage with an approximately one foot exception to the 10 feet minimum side yard setback and an approximately 5 feet exception to the 80 feet front yard setback, on property legally described as part of the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 11, Township 112, Range 18, and Lot 33, Auditor’s Subdivision No. 49 (Dakota County parcel number 31-01100-650-60).

 

Hearing #3. The purpose of this hearing is to consider eliminating wholesale solar electric systems in the AP Agricultural (Section 5.05) and HC Highway Commercial (Section 5.08) zoning districts and to remove similar references in the Solar Electric Systems Performance Standards (Section 6.20).

 

All interested parties are urged to attend these hearings or submit written comment to be read at the public hearings.

Dakota County is partnering with Farmington on a household hazardous waste drop off event  – which is open to ALL Dakota County residents.  Please feel free to promote this event to your town and township residents, as it offers a closer opportunity (than the County’s Recycling Zone in Eagan) to get rid of old household electronics and chemicals. 

 

Drop-Off Day Details:

Saturday, September 9

9am-1pm

Farmington Maintenance Facility, 19650 Municipal Drive

 

Items to drop off:  Items that will be accepted from ALL Dakota County residents include: paint, fluorescent bulbs, fertilizers, pesticides, rechargeable batteries, solvents, gasoline and oil. TVs and monitors have a $10 fee, but all other electronics like printers, laptops, hard drives, and vacuums will be collected for free.  Also NEW this year – Paper shredding.  Residents can bring in their confidential documents for free, on-site shredding.

 

Items not accepted:  No medicine, sharps, yard, business or farm waste will be accepted.
