Ramon Xifré


Welcome to my professional webpage!

As an economist I am interested in the competitiveness of the Spanish and EU economies and the related policies on issues like business environment, internationalization and R& D&I and industrial policy.

Since 2004 I am Associate Professor at the Escola Superior de Comerç Internacional (ESCI-UPF), an international business school associated to Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in Barcelona and since 2012 I am also Policy Research Fellow at the Public-Private Research Center (PPSRCat IESE Business School.

From January 2009 to December 2011 I was on leave, serving as Senior Economic Policy Advisor at the Spanish Prime Minister Economic Bureau.

I am the academic coordinator of SpanishReforms, a web project that monitors economic policy reforms in Spain and a member of the European Central Bank Competitiveness Research Network (CompNet).
