| ||Who am I?|
I am Dave Scharf, longtime Saskatchewan broadcaster, part-time writer, and, now, Ottawa based restaurateur.
For nineteen years, as Rambling Dave, I was Saskatchewan’s highest rated radio personality among listeners age 18-54 – all with Rawlco Radio, C95 FM. Despite increasing competition, changing co-hosts, and an evolving format, I was consistently the most popular, engaging, and listened to radio personality in Saskatchewan.
I understand how to engage people in an honest, entertaining, and memorable way.
I have been a TV host, writer, teacher, and consultant. I have been a publisher, editor, writer, marketer, web site operator, and blogger.
I am the founder of the Canadian Poker Tour. Weird, eh?
I am in the vanguard of social media.
I now find myself in Ottawa, in the process of opening The Flying Banzini, an upscale, fast-casual restaurant.
What sets me apart?
For many years, people were compelled to share their mornings with me because my point of view is always thoughtful, fresh, funny, and without offense. Now, as I embark on this new phase of life's grand adventure, these traits will morph into a restaurant which is delicious, whimsical, provocative, and memorable.
Heather, my remarkable wife, is a family physician. For the past twenty years she has placed my career in front of hers. It's Heather's turn to lead. She began a Family Practice in Ottawa in July, 2011.
Join the adventure.
