Week twelve: Tuesday, 11/7/2017 Awards Banquet

Congrats to our relay's. They placed 8th in the 200 Medley and the 200 Freestyle. And to Rose Smith who placed 8th in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:16.78. 

Our annual CHRISTMAS PARTY will be on Saturday, December 16th, 2017 from 5 till 8 at my home. Wear an ugly sweater and bring a white elephant gift no more than 10 dollars. We will be making cookies together this year and a craft.  Feel free to invite an alumni. Along with the best holiday music provided by my hubby, Rob, along with a warm fire.

Week eleven: 10/30 through 11/4/2017
Practice will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Monday from 4:30 till 6:30, Tuesday, 5:00 till 6:30, Wednesday 3:30 till 5:00, Thursday 4:00 till 5:30 p.m.
Friday we will leave for Districts at 12 noon in front of RA Long. Please look under District Itinerary for detailed information.
Congrats to the following swimmers moving on to Districts: Rose Smith in the 200 Freestyle and the 100 Backstroke, Mikey Mace in the 200 IM and the 100 Breaststroke, Keeli Hash in the 200 Freestyle and Cara Davey in the 100 Backstroke. This year Sierra Larson will be joining the team as an alternate for the relay's.

Week ten: 10/23 through 10/27/2017
Study tables will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday - 10/23, 10/24, 10/26 and 10/27
Practice will be from 4:30 to 6:30 on the following days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 4:30 till 6:30.
Wednesday, 10/25/2017 is Sub-Districts. It is a home meet. Warm ups start at 2:45. You will be released from school directly after 6th period. Make you way over to the pool by way of the shuttle or a ride. Meet starts at 4 p.m.


Week nine: 10/16 through 10/21/2017
Study tables will be Monday, Thursday and Friday, 10/16, 10/19 and 10/20
Practice will be from 4:30 till 6:30 on Monday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday practice will be from 4 to 6.
Tuesday, 10/17/2017 will be a home swim meet against Camas. Warmup starts at 4 and the meet at 5 p.m. Please arrive as soon as you are able to help set up.
Saturday is the SWW Invitational. It is a home meet and a long one as well. Please arrive at 7:30 a.m. Warm up starts at 8. The meet starts at 10 a.m.
Practice on Monday and Wednesday, 10/16 and 10/18 will be from 4 till 6 p.m.

Week eight: 10/9 through 10/13/2017
Study tables will be Monday and Thursday, 10/9 and 10/12
Practice will be from 4:30 till 6:30 Monday, Thursday and Friday.
Wednesday practice will be from 4 till 6. 
Tuesday, 10/10/2017 will be an away meet at the CCYMCA. We will leave in front of RAL. Time will be determined.
Friday, 10/13/2017 we will have our annual Swim-A-Long fund raiser from 2:30 till 4:30. We will also have our annual dinner at my home from 6:30 till 9:30. Cara has the food list. This year will be a Taco Feed. You can fund the fund raiser form under Fund Raising and Booster Club opportunities.


Week seven: 10/2 through 10/7/2017
Study tables will be 10/3, 10/6 and 10/7
Swim practice from 4:30 till 6:30 Monday, Thursday and Friday
Wednesday practice will be from 4 till 6. There will be a Water Polo match after our practice.
Swim meets:
Tuesday, 10/3/2017 against Kelso and 10/7/2017 is the Kelso Invitational at the Gaither Pool in Kelso. Please be at the Gaither Pool in Kelso at 7:30.

The girls did an outstanding job working both concessions on Friday, September 29, 2017.  I am so proud of how each of you did your part. Thanks also to Mikey's dad Phil and Hanna's (Hanna missed the picture) dad and mom, Phil and Angela. We are so grateful to have parents willing to help out the swim team. 

Week six: 9/25 through 9/29/2017
Study tables will be 9/25, 9/26 and 9/29.
Swim practice from 4:30 till 6:30 Monday through Wednesday. Friday 9/29/2017 practice will be from 3 till 4:30
Swim meet:
Thursday, 9/28/2017 against Evergreen, Heritage, Mt. View and Union. Warm up will be 4 and the meet starts at 5. It will be over approximately 7.
Friday, 9/29/2017 - work concessions on the band side from 5 till 8 or 9 p.m. We will also sell lollipops.

Week five:  9/18 through 9/23/2017
Study tables will be 9/18 - 9/20 and 9/22 from 3 till 3:30. Weight room is optional from 3:30 till 4 these days. All freshman are required to be at study tables! Unless approved by Mr. Reeves or Mr. Person to study elsewhere.
Swim meets are as follows:
Tuesday, 9/19 is an away meet. We will be traveling to the Propstra Pool in Vancouver and competing against Skyview and Ft. Vancouver . Directions  and times are located under the Team Swim Schedule tab. The bus will pick all athletes that are at RAL in the front of the school. The time is TBD.  Any athletes at MM will stay at MM and be picked up in the back by the pool. 
Thursday, 9/21 is a home meet against Columbia River and Hudson's Bay. (NOTE: It is also Teacher Appreciation at this meet) All athletes are encouraged to invite a teacher that made a positive difference in their life and share that news on the mike for everyone to hear. 

Saturday, 9/23 is the Sprint Pentathlon. This is a very long swim meet. Remember to bring healthy snacks, water and whatever you will need to stay warm.

We were fortunate to have one of our alumni swimmers come and visit the swim team. Kelsey Craft became  Miss International 2017 this year. Kelsey made it to State 3 of her 4 years swimming on the team. She was a sprinter and swam in the 50 free and 100 free.


Practice on Friday, September 15 will be from 3 till 5.

Week four: 9/11 through 9/15/2017
Practice days are Monday 9/11,9/13, 9/14 from 4:30 till 6:30
Home swim meet is Tuesday, 9/12 against Capital. Warm ups start at 4 p.m. meet at 5 p.m.
Civil War game Friday, 9/15. Practice is from 3 till 5.

Study tables has been moved to Monday, September 18th, 2017. They will be from 3:00 till 3:30.

Week three: 9/4 through 9/8/2017
Labor practice from 5 till 7 p.m.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (9/5, 9/6 and 9/8) practice from 4:30 till 6:30
Thursday: 9/7/2017 Girls Jamboree Swim Meet: Be at the pool directly after school. Warm ups start at 3 and the meet starts at 4. It should be over about 7:30. Everyone is to participate. No one is to leave after the swim meet until the pool is back in order. Our task for this year are putting the lane lines in and taking them out.

Wednesday, September 6 we will be listening to swimmers running for Captain after practice at approximately 6:10.

Week two 8/28 through 9/1/2017

Events for this week include: Lollipop sales on Thursday, August 31st at the RAL football game.

There will not be study tables this week, but, you are welcome to take the shuttle over and hang out in the LGIC Room. Reminder to be respectful and a good ambassador for RALong.

We had a great first week. We have several new swimmers and they have already grown leaps and bounds with swim technique. Well done!

Week one 8/21 through 8/25/2017
Welcome to the 2017 18 Girls Swim Season. Practice times for this week ( Monday, August 21st - Friday, August 25th) are as follows:
Monday - August 21st is the first day of practice from 5 till 7 p.m.  There will be a Parent Meeting at 6 p.m.
The 22nd and 24th, Tuesday and Thursday from 5 till 7 p.m.
August 23rd, Wednesday, from 3 till 5 p.m.
August 25th, Friday we will be at the football stadium from 5 till 7 selling lollipops.

Please check this site on a regular basis for important information.

For the week of October 31st through Saturday November 5th.

Friday, November 4th the District Team will be leaving for Evergreen State College to compete. Congrats to the following girls: Channa Cansler, Cara Davey, Kryssi Davey, Maddison Kirkpatrick, Ashley Larson, Madison Larson, Keely Lemmons, Dakota Smith and Rose Smith. We will meet in the front of RAL at 12 noon. We will be carpooling with the Kirkpatrick Family and will be having dinner afterwards on Friday at Red Robin.You are responsible to pay for your own meal. Directions to Evergreen State College are located to the left of this message under the District Itinerary tab.

For the week of October 24th through 28th

Sub-Districts is Wednesday, October 26th. It will be at the Propstra Pool. The bus will leave at 1:15 in front of RAL. 

On Friday, October 28th is Homecoming. Our practice will be from 3 till 5 p.m. We are working the bank side of the Snack Booth this evening. We will also be selling lollipops this evening. I would like every swimmer to help out.

For the week of October 17th through the 22nd.

Swim Meet on Monday, October 17th against Kelso at Kelso. you are responsible to get yourself to the meet. Warm up starts at 4 and the meet at 5. 

Saturday, October 22nd is the SWW Invitational. Warm up for us starts at 8 a,m. Meet starts at 10 a.m. This will be a long meet so bring water and healthy snacks. It should be over around 4 ish. 

FOR THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 10TH THROUGH 13TH.
HOME SWIM MEET ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 13TH AGAINST CENTRALIA/CHEHALIS/WFWEST. WARM UPS START AT 4. MEET AT 5. ARRIVE AT THE POOL AT 3:30.  BE PREPARED TO HONOR YOUR PARENT/S AS IT IS SENIOR NIGHT.

For the week of October 3rd through the 8th

Kelso Invitational at Kelso, Saturday, October 8th. Warmup starts at 8:00. We will be with Kelso and Mark Morris. The meet starts at 10 a.m. You are responsible to get to the Gaither Pool at Kelso High School. This will be a long meet so bring healthy snacks and water for the day.

Swim meet on Tuesday, October 4th against Brush Prairie, Battleground, Hockinson and LaCenter. Warmup starts at 4 p.m. and the meet starts at 5 p.m. Please arrive as close to 3:45 as possible.

FOR THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 26TH THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30TH.

AWAY SWIM MEET ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27TH AGAINST COLUMBIA RIVER AND HUDSON'S BAY AT THE PROPSTRA POOL IN VANCOUVER. WE WILL BE LEAVING FROM RAL AT 1:15. WE WILL MEET IN THE FRONT OF RAL. BRING HEALTHY SNACKS AND WATER. WE WILL BE STOPPING IN SALMON CREEK AFTER THE MEET FOR DINNER. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO BRING YOUR OWN MONEY.

The Swim A Long fund raiser earnings need to be in by Friday, September 23, 2016. Sweatshirts will be ordered the week of September 26th-30th, 2016.

THE SWIM ALONG FUND RAISER IS SET FOR FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16TH. BE GATHERING YOUR PLEDGES.
Swimmers will have the option of working out in the machine room starting Monday September 12th, Wednesday and Friday with Susan and/or myself. We will start promptly at 3:30 each day and lift for 30 minutes.

Hi Girls.  We will be going to Monticello Middle School on Friday, June 10th from 11:15 till 1ish. Meet Susan at the front of the school on the steps and you will all walk over together. 


FYI.....If you want to get ahead start with swim practice the pool will be open from  Monday through Friday from June 27th till July 31st. It is optional. The times will change depending on coaches availability. Just a reminder: Coaches are not allowed to give any direction during these practices.


Get ready for our yearly visit to the Middle schools.

SWW Invite Saturday, October 24th 2015. Be at the pool at 8:00 a.m. Warm up will be from 8:30 till 9 a.m.  Bring healthy snacks and water. It will last until around 4 p.m. Everyone needs to stay to help clean up our area after the meet.

Saturday - October 24th is the SWW Invite at our pool. Arrive at 8:30 a.m. Meet will last till around 4 p.m.

The South West Washington meet will be Saturday, October 24th. Entries for this meet have to be in by this Friday, October 16th. 
We have 2 swim meets this week. Tuesday, October 13th against Olympic and Thursday, October 15th against Union and Heritage. Please arrive to the pool at 3:30. Warm ups start at 4 and the meet starts at 5 p.m.

Lollipops sales this Saturday from 12 noon until 4 p.m. at the Walmart on 7th. 

The next swim meet is Saturday, October 10th at the Gaither Pool in Kelso. Be at the pool at 8 a.m. Warm ups start at 8:30 a.m. The meet starts at 10 a.m. Remember to bring healthy snacks and water. The meet will last several hours.

Practice on Friday will be from 9 until 11 a.m.      

The next swim meet is Wednesday, October 7th. Be at the pool at 3:30. Warm ups start at 4 p.m. and the meet starts at 5 p.m. The meet is against Camas, Battleground and Brush Prairie.

Morning practice is Tuesday, October 6th from 5 till 7 a.m.  Coffee and cinnamon rolls.

Next swim meet is this Tuesday, September 29th. It is a home meet against Columbia River and Hudson's Bay. The meet will start at 5 and should last till around 7 p.m.

NOTE: We will be having early morning swim practice on Wednesday, September 30th from 5 a.m. until 7 a.m. After practice there will be coffee and donuts. The girls can take the shuttle over to their first period.

Our first fund raiser is coming up. The girls will be selling lollipops at the Walmart on 7th Avenue. We will get the exact days and times posted by Tuesday. And a schedule of which girls will be working at what times.


Our next swim meet is away. It will be at the Cascade Aquatic Center in Vancouver. Directions are under Team Swim Schedule. The bus will be picking us up at 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23rd. If you are already at Mark Morris, stay at Mark Morris and get on the bus at Mark Morris. All others be at the front of RA Long at 1:35 p.m. We will be returning home approximately 8:00 p.m. Remember to bring a sack dinner or money for dinner. A reminder this is an outdoor pool. Bring extra clothes and towels. It is recommended parents bring there own chairs to sit in.
Next swim meet is called the Sprint Pentathlon. It will be at the Dick Mealy Memorial Pool this Saturday, September 20th.  Girls need to arrive at 8:00 a.m. Warm ups are at 8:30 a.m. The meet starts at 10 a.m. and will end approximately at 2:45 ish. 

Next swim meet is away at the Propstra Pool in Vancouver on Tuesday, September 15th, 2015. All girls are to be in the front of RA Long to get on the bus by 1:15. The meet will start at 3:30. 

Picture packets are available in your folders.
Pictures will be on Friday, September 4th at 5:15 p.m. at the pool. Bring your money with you to give to the photographer.

On Thursday, August 27th at 10 a.m. till 12 noon we will be meeting in the front of RA Long for a team 

meeting. Be ready to work on personal goals for this swim season.


FYI.....We will have a parent meeting on Monday, August 24th between 6 and 7 p.m. 

Hello girls. The 2015-2016 swim season is just around the corner. We will start practice on Monday, August 24th between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m. until September 11th.  REMEMBER to have all your paperwork completed BEFORE the first day of practice. It's a new system this year and you will need to go online to complete it. Call Traci Thornton in the ASB office if you have any questions at 575-7227.

If you want to be ahead of the game summer practices will be available at no cost to you between the hours of 6:30 and 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. 

ATTENTION:  Our Swim Banquet will be on Wednesday, November 19th between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. in the Teachers Lounge at R.A. Long.  Alexandria and Bailey Nading will be calling each of you to ask for your help in providing sandwich fixens. 

Our swim season is completed. Great job girls.  We will be having our banquet soon. I will keep you posted. Please turn in any caps or goggles I gave you to borrow. 

For the week of November 3-6 practice will be from 4:30 until 6:30 Monday-Thursday.

For the week of Sunday, October 26th through Saturday, November 2nd. Practice times for M,T are 4:30 until 6:30. Wednesday are Sub-Districts, Thursday 4 until 6 and Friday 3:00 until 5:00 p.m.
For the week of Sunday, October 19th through Saturday, October 25th. Practice times for M,W,Th and F are from 4:30 until 6:30.

The SWW Invite is Saturday, October 25th. All girls need to arrive for warm ups at 8 a.m. I will send you the projected time the meet will be over later this week. The projected time for the meet to end is around 3:50 p.m. There are 241 girls swimming and 18 schools competing.

Tuesday, October 21st will be our last home dual meet of the season. It will be against Kelso and MM. The meet starts at 5 p.m. Warm ups start at 4 p.m. Please be at the pool at 3:15 to help set up. It will be Senior night where parents are shown appreciation. For ALL swimmers this is also a night for teachers' to be appreciated. Please invite your favorite teacher to watch you swim this evening. 

Thursday, October 16th we have an away swim meet against Union and Heritage at the CW YMCA in Vancouver.  We will be leaving from the front of RA Long at 1:45. You will be released from class at 1:30.  We will be stopping after the meet for dinner. Remember to bring money.

All FRESHMAN and SOPHOMORES are to attend an after school presentation for athlete's called, "What does it mean to be a student-athlete." Meet in the auditorium directly after school. Rides will be provided to the pool after the presentation.

For the week of October 13th through October 19th, 2014.  Please check the calendar for the practice times for this week. Monday and Friday practices are from 4:30 until 6:30. Tuesday practice is from 3 until 4:30, Wednesday practice (approved by Ty) is from 1:45 until 3:30.
