On September 10th, the Resource Association in Special Education in District 102 (RAiSE) will host Lisa Marsicano, M.A.T., and an executive function skills specialist. She will give a presentation titled Executive Function Skills: Strategies for a Successful Year. This presentation will focus on the use of tools and strategies to help students develop executive function skills and independence, and to ultimately achieve success. Specific topics to be discussed include:
· Homework Efficiency and the Homework Process
· Organization, Time Management, and Planning
· Creating Structures and Routines
· Meeting Expectations/Quality of Work
· Study Tips and Strategies
Following the presentation, District 102’s Robert Condon, Director of Special Education, and Kateri Quinonez, special education teacher, will be presenting on the Executive Functioning Skills classes offered at Park Jr. High School, giving an overview of the curriculum for 7th and 8th grade students who receive services for executive functioning deficits.
The Meeting will take place at 7:00 PM on September 10, 2013 in the LRC at Park Jr. High School (333 N. Park Rd., La Grange Park IL). All parents, teacher and community members are invited to attend.
