You Are Never Too Old...

Is this a first?

Three members of the club, with a combined age of 200 years, successfully completed a triathlon relay at the UK Triathlon Northwest event in Nantwich on Sunday 14th September 2014.

This was the first time any of them had competed in a triathlon and, needless to say, they were the oldest team in the whole event.

Out of 64 relay teams they finished in 24th position.....

Alan Buckley (the baby of the team at 64) did the 500m swim in 12.15 minutes

Ian Howitt (69) did the 20k bike ride in 41.08 minutes and

Jack Leyland (67) came over the finishing line of the 5k run in 29.06 minutes

This gave the team, including the changeovers, a very commendable time of 1hr 22 mins 29 secs.
