Successive sacrifices of two knights and a rook saw Short sweep his opponent off the board, in little more time than it must have taken to write the chap's name down on the scoresheet.
1.e4 c6 2.Ne2 d5 3.e5 c5 4.d4 Nc6 5.c3 cxd4 6.cxd4 Bg4 7.Nbc3 e6 8.Be3 Nge7 9.f3 Bf5 10.g4 Bg6 11.Nf4 a6 12.Rc1 h5 13.Bg2 hxg4 14.fxg4 Bh7 15.O-O Ng6
White is fully mobilised, whereas Black is still at least two moves away from castling. Nigel strikes while the iron is hot.
