Summer Quickplay 2023

The KCCA Summer Quickplay Handicap will consist of 19 teams and will be split into 4 groups with Rainham drawn in group "D" along with Medway 1, Weald of Kent, Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells. The group stage is to be completed by Friday 25th August when each group winner will qualify for the Semi-Final stage.

• 28th June - Rainham v Medway 1, lost 7½  - 8½ 

• 12th July - Rainham v Weald of Kent, won 10½  - 5½ 

• 31st July - Sevenoaks v Rainham, won 7 - 9

• 11th September - Tunbridge Wells v Rainham, won 7 - 9

Rainham v Medway 1

After winning the 2021/22 Sumer Quickplay last year against Hastings we were up against a a Medway team.  After losing the first round we managed to have the advantage with winning round 2 comprehensively and with drawing round 3 giving a 2 point advantage.  Unfortunately losing the final round 3-1 meant we lost the match overall 8½ - 7½

Rainham v Weald of Kent

Our second home summer quickplay match against Weald of Kent ended in a comprehensive win after winning rounds one, two and four.  The final result then ending in a 10½ - 5½ win

Sevenoaks v Rainham 

Against a very strong Sevenoaks team we just managed to edge this match.  After rounds one, two and four were all drawn the decisive result was in round 3, winning by 3-1.  The final result with Rainham winning 9-7

Tunbridge Wells v Rainham 

A convincing 3-1 win in round one subsided to an even 2-2 and then a 1-3 loss in the subsequent two rounds after which a 3-1 win in the final round saw us win the match 9-7. Unfortunately this leaves us runners up in the group with Medway finishing top and proceeding to the semi-final.
