Summer Quickplay 2019

The KCCA Summer Quickplay Handicap will consist of 18 teams and will be split into 4 groups with Rainham drawn in group 4 along with Folkestone, Hastings and Maidstone The group stage is to be completed by Sunday 15th September when each group winner will qualify for the knock-out stage.

Rainham v Maidstone

Our opening match in the Summer Quickplay started with a perfect 4/4 in the opening round that laid the ground for the rest of the evening. After wins in rounds two and three we had accumulated enough points to win the match. The final round of the evening saw Maidstone winning the fourth round of matches 3-1 making the final result a 10½ - 5½ winning margin for Rainham.

Hastings v Rainham

The second group game was a trip down to the 2018 Summer Quickplay winners at Hastings. The first round finished even but the second round proved decisive as we were unable to make up the 2 point deficit in the final two rounds This was a closely fought game, with the match finishing 9-7. Now Hastings have already recorded 3 wins from 3, our final match against Folkestone will provide the opportunity to secure second in the group stage.

Rainham v Folkestone

Rainham quickly established a decisive advantage by winning the first two rounds 3-1 and then got over the winning line by triumphing in the third round 2½-1½. We then eased up allowing Folkestone a consolation win in the last round 1½-2½ with the final result 10-6 in our favour. We blooded two newcomers to the format, Alistair & Constantine who both enjoyed the evening.
