Summer Quickplay 2018

Motu Akitua, Cook Islands, South Pacific

The KCCA Summer Quickplay Handicap will consist of 19 teams and will be split into 4 groups with Rainham have been drawn in group 3 along with Gravesend 1, Gravesend 2 and Medway. The group stage is to be completed by 31 August when each group winner will qualify for the knock-out stage. Last season we narrowly lost in the final against Charlton, hopefully we will better that result this year.

Rainham v Gravesend 2

Finally we got our 2018 Summer Quickplay under way with a win over Gravesend 2. Three of the four Rounds were eveningly matched with the convincing 4-0 win in round 2 proved to be the enough to win the mach.

Medway v Rainham

A comprehensive victory found us eventually winning 12½ - 3½ and scoring at least 3 in all the rounds played. A draw in a finally game against Gravesend 1 will see us qualify to the semi-final stages.

Gravesend 1 v Rainham

Although we needed to avoid defeat we had another emphatic victory in our final group game at Gravesend. After starting well in the first round, honours were shared even in the second round. The final two rounds 100% were recorded making the winning margin 13½- 2½

Semi-final: Rainham v Hastings

The semi-final was a re-run of last years match at the same stage but were up against a good Hastings side and were unable to repeat last year victory but eventually lost this match 10-6. Each round was closely fought but we were unable to win any of the four rounds as they all finished with the smallest of margins 2½ - 1½
