Programs

Annual PTA programs support parent involvement in our children's education. These programs center on annual and ongoing events to encourage continuity and growth.
Rewards Store - A rewards program that motivates students to achieve their goals in Accelerated Reader and Math Facts in a Flash.  They earn tickets and then spend those tickets at the rewards store.  

Fire Safety Week: 
Students learn how to prevent fires and what to do in the event of a fire.  They learn about making a family fire safety plan and about smoke detectors.  Students have the opportunity to tour the Madison Fire Department's fire house and practice escaping from a simulated home fire.

Bus Safety Week:  Students learn about loading and unloading, emergency exits, safety inside and outside the bus as well as expected behavior on the bus.

5th and 6th Grade Social:  Students in the 5th and 6th grades have the opportunity to attend a school social in their honor.

K-5th Field Day: PTA supports the PE department by supplying the inflatable activity and refreshing slushies for the students to enjoy.



PTA Service Project:  Each year a service project is adopted by the PTA.  This allows students and their families to give back to their community.





Book Fair:  Students and parents have the convenience of shopping for books at the school during our book fairs.  Two book fairs are held at the school each year.


Watch D.O.G.S Dads - (Dads OGreat Students) is an  innovative program focusing on education and safety in schools by using the positive influence of male role models.  Today, more than 500 programs in 25 states participate in WATCH D.O.G.S.  For additional information click on the link above.

6th Grade Field Day:  Students from all Madison City Elementary Schools gather to participate in a city-wide field day competition.

Teacher Appreciation:  Our teacher appreciation luncheons are a time to thank all the faculty and staff for their dedication to our students.

Science Fair: 
 Students participate in a science fair competition held at the school.







Pie in the Sky Awards:  Each month, one student and is awarded a $20 Pie in the Sky gift card.  The student winner is chosen randomly from the pool of nominees each month.  Teachers and staff nominate students who exemplify the character trait for that month.


    Reflections Program:  2014-2015 REFLECTIONS THEME:  “The world would be a better place if...”   The Reflections program is the National PTA’s cornerstone arts program.  

    Enrichment:  Without leaving the classroom, students may step back in time to learn about life without modern conveniences or learn about how they can be an active citizen in their community  or learn about health and fitness.  It is part of an exciting enrichment project started by Principal Dorinda White.  Seven enrichment sessions throughout the year will expose Rainbow students to topics ranging from life at the White House to health to math and science.  The goal is to give students experiences beyond the ABC’s of the classroom. Funding for this project comes from the Rainbow Elementary PTA!    Click here for additional information.

    Beautification:  The outside of the school is decorated seasonally.

    Hospitality:  Provide support to all programs where hospitality functions are needed.  Also provides recognition to teachers and staff on their birthdays.

    Honor Roll:
      
    Students are rewarded for earning grades that place them on the A Honor Roll and A/B Honor Roll.  Rewards are presented each grading period.
