We met in March of 2009 while both of us were attending Arizona State University. One lucky night we both happened to stop at the same place called The Gelato Spot. Both of us were on our own that night and in the mood for a tasty little treat. Jessica had just returned from living in India and was missing it terribly. So when she noticed the handsome young Indian man in the line in front of her she immediately struck up a conversations by asking what part of India he was from. Raghu was certainly surprised that a blonde girl from ASU knew not only of his hometown, but the college that he attended for his undergrad. We talked for HOURS that night and it eased that "homesick" feeling we were both having toward India. I guess you could call it fate because Raghu is the first Indian that I saw in AZ, but later noticed that there were literally thousands of them studying at ASU.
After the Gelato night we became instant friends and eventually started dating a few months later. The rest is history as they say. So after 2 years of dating and a 10 month engagement we tied the knot. We had a busy 2011, Raghu finished his doctorate, we had two weddings, the first one was a Christian wedding which was followed by a Hindu wedding two days later, and Raghu joined his first real job at Intel Corporation in AZ soon after the wedding. Jessica's sister gave us a papillon puppy as a wedding gift. We named her Henna and she is the crowning jewel of our family so far. We soon bought a house and went about working on it to make the house beautiful and comfortable for its residents, guests and the future family of ours. We love our three bedroom home which has a pool in the backyard. The home is so welcoming that guests come and never leave.
