How to use this web site

I'd like to know radiation dose in an area

I"d like to post information
  Please contact to ichimiyar (at)

This page focuses updating various and latest information.
Regional summarized lists are available at:

Latest information to this site:  Look me (Japanese, so far)

    Operation policy
  1. Aggregates radiation monitoring related data from many sources with additional information (e.g. Lat/long), stores them into our database and supplies them public as a platform of visualization people. (We plan to implement automatic data acquisition from original site and web API.)
  2. Make links to graphs/plots by individuals and institutes, optionally store them into this site.
  3. Introduces web sites in which provide correct knowledge and information.
  4. Introduces productive discussions and proposals.
 * At this moment, almost plots and links describes in only Japanese, sorry. If you know corresponding English links (of course, Japanese ones too), let us know. (see below contact)

    0. Machine Readable Data (CSV, TSV, etc.), API, Spread Sheet,... [Database]
So far, almost data from radiation monitoring sites are provided as text or list style which is NOT machine readable. (even some sites provides scanned PDF of a printed paper, Oh!)
It disturbs automatic updates of visualization sites(plots, movies, etc.).
So, we are working on gathering data as much as possible and storing into machine readable database. Please utilize following links to make your work(s) automatically updated one(s). In order to keep updating them as latest one, I'd like to suggest all visualization works creates of the radiation monitor data to utilize these database.  We'd like to unite with other activities, so if you know and/or are running such works, let us know. (See below contact.)

Database running by this site collaborators:
      • Database in Google Document (Online SpreadSheet) (text: Japanese)
        • Data in this database, in each observation points (by Apr. 7th)

          • Fukushima Dai-Ni   NPS (TEPCO)
          • Monitoring data in Fukushima Pref. summarized by MEXT-JP.
          • Each area monitoring in Fukushima Pref.
          • Niigata Pref.
          • Aoba ward, Sendai, Miyagi Pref. (Tohoku Univ.)

        • Proposal for automatically data acquisition from PDF (at original site) into RDBMS and web API (Sorry, still Japanese)
Database running by various groups (including our collaborators):

(In this section, following data is listed.)
      • Radiation dose
        • environmental radiation
        • pot water
        • air dust (fallout)
        • crop
        • near the Fukushima Dai-Ichi Nuclear Power Station
        • Nuclear Power Plant site
      • Major parameters of the Plant (NPS)
      • AMeDAS (weather telemetry system)
      • SPEEDI  (System for Prediction of Environmental Emergency Dose Information)
      • Lat/Long of each observation point
      • Summary sites
      1. Aggregated radiation monitoring data/plots/graphs
        1.1 Radiation monitoring data
    • Spatial/Time Evolution of Radiation Level at North Ibaraki Pref. (adjacent to Fukushima Pref. where the Nuclear Plant locates). [Automatically update] by Dr. Itahashi (RIKEN)
      • collective radiation monitoring data summarized on the Google Map.
        • Handy site to see the data on the Google Map.
    • North part of Ibaraki Pref. plot by Dr. Doi (Tsukuba Univ.) [Manually Updted]
        • Plot    (Data during 3/14 20:30 - 04/02 20:00)
      • Prof. Sano group (Univ. of Tokyo)'s plot (manually updated)
          • First groups of this links shows comparison between radiation rate and precipitation. (When it rains, it is known that natural radiation level becomes higher.)
      • T.Nomoto's radiation level plot on map + time evolution [2011/03/15-24]
      • @fleepcom's radiation level plot & Earthquake Frequency Plot (manually updates, usually twice a day)

          • Note: Please refrain accessing to the monitoring sites at the disaster areas, and use mirror sites. MEXT web site and this page contains collective data from them.
