About the Modern Jewish Symbols in the Paintings

When I was creating my second painting in this series, Mary Preparing Baby Jesus For Circumcision, I took a photo of a photo I was using to make this painting. This photo captured a reflection of light that was not on the original photo (left) that looked like a kipot (yarmulke) on the baby's head (right). This prompted me to realize that to communicate the message that Jesus was a Jew to today's viewers, the paintings needed to include modern Jewish symbols that most contemporary viewers would recognize as those representative of Judaism.
