Oral Cancer

        The term "ORAL cancer" encompasses a wide range of cancers that occur in several areas of mouth including the tongue, buccal mucosa (cheek lining), alveolus (tooth socket), floor of mouth, retromolar trigone (region behind the last grinding tooth), palate and gingival sulcus (gums). Oral cancer can develop in anyone, but people who use areca nut with or without tobacco, tobacco in any form or drink alcohol excessively are much more likely than others to develop the disease.
