Ministries

Food Pantry Ministry
The Food Pantry serves approximately 200 families (approximately 770 people) on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month. This ministry is totally funded through the generous donations of donors.  If you would like to be a part of this outreach ministry, join us on one of these monthly days or designate your monetary donation as being for the Food Pantry.

To learn more about how you can be a part of our Food Pantry ministry, please call Sheila Self or our church office.

Backpack Buddies Ministry
Backpack Buddies is a non-profit ministry organized to help feed economically disadvantaged children in the Brooks County School System.  Many children in our community have very little to eat over the weekend and holidays.  Our mission is to provide these children who have been identified as "at risk" with self-serve meals for the weekends and holidays during the school year.

This ministry is entering its third year of operation.  The goal is to expand the number of children served.  The ministry is funded by the voluntary donations of people in our community.  Please call Julie Swann, Sandra Smith or the church office to learn how you can be a part of this ministry.

Sunday School
If you are new to Quitman United Methodist Church, you will want to join a Sunday School class tailored to your needs.

Nursery is for children ranging in age from birth to 3 years old.  Miss Nadine, Miss Breanna, and Miss Leigh are excellent teachers and care providers for God's children at this tender age!

David's Sheep is for elementary school children ranging from 2nd grade through 5th grade.  Students are taught age appropriate lessons from the Bible and application of those lessons to life today.  Students are engaged in hands-on and various other activities to address all learning styles in the classroom.

Parsonage/Friendship Class is for our more mature friends, though anyone may join.  In depth Biblical study is taught by the best Sunday School teacher in the world!  Open discussions are encouraged.

The Seekers is for those who have older children and/or have empty nests, though all are invited.  Those in attendance are seeking to deepen their Christian walk through Bible study that is in depth, energetic, fun, and interactive.

The Almost Young Adult Class used to be called the Young Adult Class but we have moved on up the ladder. All are welcome to join us as we study interesting issues and relevant topics in an effort to grow closer to God's purpose in our lives.

The Young Adult Class is a class for younger adults who are broadening their walk with the Lord through study of relevant topics through engaging discussions and visuals.  Again, the class is open to all.

The Rainbow class is for early elementary school students aged 4 through 1st grade.  These students are learning age appropriate Bible lessons and taught applications of those lessons in their lives today in a nurturing, engaging environment.

The Youth 360  is for older middle school and high school students.  Our youth class studies the Bible and applies what they are learning through community activities, mission trips, etc.  A fun time is awaiting all youth!

You will be welcome and are invited to learn about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with us!
