Our senior stallion Zilján is the consummate gentleman. As he is as kind as they come, he is a genuinely "nice guy".  He consistently passes on his wonderfully intelligent, gentle temperament to his offspring. He loves people and always takes care of his rider, even complete beginners!

Zilján has been a wonderful babysitter over the years, ponying all his foals and mares all over the trails of San Diego County.

Zilján's athleticism and perfectly correct and expressive gaits have allowed him to excel in the sport of dressage (see below for show record).

Zilján is homozygous for the black gene and has produced black, bay, dun and grey (more color than grey, even with grey mares!)

Zilján is Revised (approved for breeding) in the Spanish Studbook (Cria Caballar,) also with P.R.E. Mundial, and registered with the International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association (IALHA).

 Zilján's Performance Record

·        2006 United States Dressage Federation (USDF) National All Breeds Champion, Training Level, Amateur and Open (P.R.E.)

·        2006 California Dressage Society, San Diego Chapter (CDS-SD)  Year End High Point award for Training Level, Amateur and Open

·        2006 CDS-SD highest placing horse/rider team at all levels, Training Level through Grand Prix, Amateur and Open (508 horse/rider teams)

·        2006 Dressage Among Friends (DAF) Champion Performance Stallion (Dressage), Training – Fourth Level, Amateur and Open

·        2005 Champion, Chula Vista Police Department-sponsored Mounted Patrol Competitive Trail Trial (sensory/obstacle work)

UPDATE: SADLY, WE LOST BANDO AFTER A VALIANT FIGHT AGAINST COMPLICATIONS FROM SALMONELLA IN JULY, 2009

Our future dressage star, Ziljan's son "Bando" was kind, affectionate, incredibly gorgeous, and extremely athletic.  Bando LOVED to be petted and scratched and was quite the show-off, enjoying all the admiration he received from visitors. Bando's favorite pastimes were playing with his giant, 42" ball, swimming at the beach, and of course flirting with the girls.

BREAKING NEWS!

NOVELERO IS REVISED AND APPROVED BY ANCCE

AS A BREEDING STALLION IN THE SPANISH STUDBOOK

We consider Novelero our resident clown because he goes out of his way to make everyone laugh. He loves to chase with his giant ball, soak himself in the sprinkers, and play at the beach. He'll let you pet him for hours if you have the stamina, and he'd climb in your pocket if he could, but he's always respectful and a complete gentleman.

Novelero will be very tall with lots and lots of hair. He is gorgeous, very Spanish, and has beautiful, expressive movement. He definitely has what it takes to follow in his daddy's footsteps as our next dressage star and we have high hopes for him.

He carries not only bay but the rare black and chestnut genes as well.

What's more, Novelero is the kindest, sweetest guy you'll ever meet!

Novelero is REVISED in the Spanish Studbook (ANCCE,)

as well as with P.R.E. Mundial, and is registered with the

International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association.
