The 2nd Qualinet Summer School on "Crowdsourcing and QoE Assessment" intends to deepen knowledge in crowdsourcing and using crowdsourcing for subjective user studies. An overview of crowdsourcing in general, the different platforms and QoE frameworks, as well as best practices and challenges for crowdsourcing experiments especially for QoE assessment are given. Thereby, incentives and gamification in crowdsourcing are addressed to increase the participation and to improve data quality. Further, the statistical evaluation of measurements and subjective user studies is taken into account which builds the basis for QoE modeling. Some novel applications in the area of crowdsourcing beyond subjective user studies are discussed like games with purpose.
The summer school takes place in Patras, Greece from 21 - 24 September 2013.
The program of the summer school can be found at Detailed Program.
We thank Microworkers for sponsoring US$1500 of crowdsourcing credit at the Microworkers crowdsourcing platform for the working groups of the Summer School. This sponsorship
makes it possible to run real crowdsourcing experiments and gives the opportunity to advance and practically investigate research ideas in small group work.
