Abstract

Capture the study in brief in the abstract
  • The abstract is crucial in introducing the study and encouraging further reading.
  • Normally, an abstract is of about 300 words long. This will, however, vary according to the journal and length of your paper.
  • Most journals follow the IMRAD structure within the abstract which is similar to the structure followed throughout the rest of the paper. The abstract will then be a true summary of the paper. It will contain the most important points from each section of the paper.
  • Include the most important keywords in the abstract to increase chances of your paper showing up in search results.
