GFWC Paradise Valley Junior Woman's Club
Raising Funds for COVID-19 Projects
Pictured above is a quilt that was made by one of our PV Junior members Debbie Grieder. This quilt is made of 100% cotton, 56 x 62 inches, machine pieced and quilted. We are raffling it off to raise funds to go to the various COVID-19 relief projects. Food banks, assistance at school food pantries, SEL education and support for our first responders are areas in need during this time. PV Juniors would like to help support these groups this year with the money raised by this quilt raffle. Tickets are $5.00 a piece. The drawing will be April 28th. Tickets and money need to be sent or turned into Debbie Grieder no later than 8:00 a.m. the morning of the drawing. Checks should be made out to Paradise Valley Junior WC /Please Contact Debbie (602) 569-1934 for more information about the purchase of tickets. Thank you for your support.

Families across the country are adapting to the evolving changes in daily life caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Teaching children positive preventive measures, talking with them about their fears and sharing ideas to help them feel empowered over some aspect of their life can help reduce anxiety. PV Juniors spoke with the SEL (social emotional learning) specialist at Mercury Mine Elementary school about how teachers are looking into resources and collecting books to help guide their students dealing with a variety of emotions through this unusual time. Our club worked with teachers and staff to get a list of books that would be beneficial in their classrooms and libraries. PV Juniors purchased and donated 15 books to Mercury Mine Elementary School to be used to help students with challenges that come with the coronavirus crisis. The teachers and staff have access to the books to be used in a classroom and/or online learning.
