PUEBLO CHEMICAL DEPOT, Colorado – At 9:07 a.m. today, an accident occurred in the Chemical Limited Area (CLA) involving one pallet of 4.2 mortar munitions. This is a community-level event and the County Emergency Operations Center in Pueblo has been activated. Pueblo Chemical Depot (PCD) employees have been instructed to shelter-in-place until further notice. 

          Two injuries reported. The Depot is closed to all traffic. Pueblo County and Colorado State officials have been notified.

Col. Christopher A. Grice, PCD Commander, expressed concern for the injured, “We are greatly concerned for the injured employees who were affected today. We are working to help those injured. We are responding to the accident to ensure the security and safety of the stockpile.”

Pueblo Chemical Depot - Fire

PCD FIRE UPDATE - Press Release:
At approximately 12:15 p.m., today, the Pueblo 


Chemical Depot Operations Center was notified of a fire 
at a building in the warehouse area. The fire is not located
near the chemical storage area and is not in danger.
All personnel on the Depot property have been notified and are reporting to their assigned emergency locations. 


Personnel with no emergency response duties, contractors and tenants are asked to report to their supervisors for further instructions. The safety of all individuals on the Depot, the surrounding community, and the environment remains the primary concerns of depot officials and the U.S. Army. #PCDFIRE
