Update on accident that caused injuries

PUEBLO CHEMICAL DEPOT, Colorado - During the accident earlier today, three Depot workers were injured. All employees received medical attention by the depot Medical Response Team at the site. One employee is at Parkview Medical Center and two are at St. May Corwin Hospital. All are in stable condition. Another employee, who was injured in a fall in an unrelated incident this morning, is also at Parkview Medical Center in stable condition.

All family members of the injured employees have been notified.

The two 155mm mustard agent filled munitions that fell off the pallet during this morning's fork-lift collision were not involved in the associated fire, and refined hazard modeling indicates that there is no potential off-post hazard.

"I join with everyone here on the depot who are greatly concerned for the employees injured today, I hope for their speedy recovery. We appreciate the cooperation and concern we have received from Pueblo County, the State of Colorado and all the emergency responders who are responding to this situation as we are also aware of the emergency response effort in Pueblo," stated Col. Thomas A. Duncan II, Pueblo Chemical Depot commander.
