 10/28/2018 CP PORT (PT 133) cut over to new signaling system. Restricting signals (as defined in Pittsburgh Division track chart symbol legend) at PT 121, PT 124, PT 126, PT 128, and PT 131 removed from service. 
 11/04/2018CP THOMPSON (PT 144). Restricting signals (as defined in Pittsburgh Division track chart symbol legend) at PT 135, PT 137, PT 139, and PT 142 removed from service. Effective 9:01 AM.
 11/18/2018CP MIFFLIN (PT 153) cut over to new signaling system. Restricting signals at PT 146, PT 148, and PT 151 were removed from service. Effective 9:01 AM. 
 11/19/2018 CP HAWSTONE (PT 159) cut over to new signaling system. Restricting signals at PT 155 and PT 157 were removed from service. Effective 9:01 AM. 
  
 06/16/2019Pittsburgh Line Signal Cutover. Effective at 6:01 AM, the control points C, AO, JW were transitioned to new signals. The intermediary signals at PT 268, PT 271, PT 275, PT 277 (removed from main 3 only), PT 280, PT 283, PT 287 on the SANG HOLLOW are removed.
 06/27/2019Implementation of the TOP 21 plan. " Beginning Friday, June 28, Norfolk Southern will roll out our new operating plan: TOP21. This new plan is designed to improve service for our customers and provide overall network efficiencies.  07/05/2019NS 34A derailed at Horseshoe Curve at 8:40 PM (EDT). 11 cars (cars 1-11 in consist) derailed. The engineer and conductor were uninjured (based on radio traffic). Norfolk Southern conducted an internal investigation and the results will not be made public. 
07/13/2019An industrial fire with HAZMAT incident occurred in Rochester, PA (near Conway Yard) in which trains were tied down until the area was deemed safe by emergency management. This cause significant delays of eastbound traffic through Horseshoe Curve.
