  • Supporting the school with Safety and Safety Week (keeping our kids safe)   
  • Supporting the NorseCODE (Cooperation, Ownership, Diligence, Empowerment)  (Making good choices)
  • Supporting programs like every 15 minutes (Making good choices)
  • Supplies (supporting teachers and staff)
  • Showing our appreciation as a community for the teachers and staff
  • Communication between the school and parents: Getting the word out to you on what is happening through our ValhallaLine Newsletter and this webpage.

Senior Recognition Scholorship - Application

Valhalla PTO seeks to acknowledge and reward outstanding Seniors that have exemplified Norse Code values and plan to carry these values forward into their future.  This new scholarship offers students added support for their transition into their life after high school. Award Committee selected students will receive a financial award in the amount of $200 and a certificate of recognition from the Valhalla PTO.  Student awardees will be recognized at the Senior Awards Ceremony on May 22, 2019.


Instructions

Please complete the application below and submit a short essay along with your application.  More detailed instructions on the essay requirements are included below.


Please place the application and essay in a sealed enveloped marked “ATTN: Natalia Valerdi-Rogers, PTO Senior Recognition Scholarship”


All completed applications and essays should be submitted at Julia McAfee’s desk in the Counseling Center no later than Friday, April 12, 2019 at 3:00 PM.

Essay Requirement


Please attach an essay answering the following question:


How will you take Valhalla values forward into your future?


The vision of Valhalla is to encourage students to demonstrate cooperation, ownership, diligence and empowerment. Please refer to the Norse Code in the Student Handbook, (pages 12-13) found on the Valhalla website, to review examples of how students can practice Valhalla values.  Your essay should include your scholastic ambitions and your career plans after you complete your education.


Essays must be between 250-350 words, typed, double-spaced, 12-point font with 1” margins.
