Help for setting up networking under virtualBox 16 and 17 Quanta

These are the commands to issue in your Host system ( here Linux mint 16 Petra ) this fixes the NS_ERROR_NOT_IMPLEMENTED error ) based on help from here https://superuser.com/questions/429432/how-can-i-configure-a-dhcp-server-assigned-to-a-host-only-net-in-virtualbox
VBoxManage hostonlyif create
VBoxManage hostonlyif ipconfig vboxnet0 --ip

#created a network interface you can check it with ifconfig vboxnet0
here is the result of ifconfig
vboxnet0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 0a:00:27:00:00:00
          inet addr: Bcast: Mask:
          inet6 addr: fe80::800:27ff:fe00:0/64 Scope:Link
          RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:165 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:29330 (29.3 KB)
# now do these commands to let the interface access DHCP service

VBoxManage dhcpserver add --ifname vboxnet0 --ip
--netmask --lowerip --upperip

VBoxManage dhcpserver modify --ifname vboxnet0 --enable

this does the trick and setup in your Windows VM a net work called Host Only Adapter
and name vboxnet0
Done !! image above shows a terminal outside Windows pinging into the VM's network
and the packets received her are 66 ( 58 from the pings and 8 from Firefox browser
asking for verification to view a server inside the VM called Abyss ....
( put this address in the host browser )
VirtualBox Linux install (Petra)
