Born in the city of Cosquín, Córdoba, Argentina, Paula dedicated most of her life to the teaching of English as a Second Language. She holds three degrees in ESL from the University of Córdoba, College of Foreign Languages, and has extensive experience in teaching English as a Second Language at all levels. She lived in Uruguay (1986-1988), Italy (1988-1991) and the United States (1998-2005), where she pursued graduate studies in Philosophy of Education (Italy, 1991)) and Human Resource Development through Learning Technologies (2000) and Educational Technologies to Advance Women in the Workplace, (USA, 2005). She has also worked in ESL teaching since her college years and has a passion for integrating the new, interactive and engaging teaching and learning capabilities of e-learning platforms in the delivery of her courses.

In 2001 she married John Schmitz while in the United States, and moved back to Cosquín, her home town in Córdoba, Argentina, where they resided with their two young daughters from 2005 to 2010. They both worked there as independent consultants and entrepreneurs in the fields of language teaching and educational technologies. They co-founded the first bilingual school in Cosquín, Thomas More Bilingual School in 2009, which obtained Ministry of Education approval. In 2011they moved to La Cumbre, Sierras de Córdoba, to pursue their dream projects. They both currently consult and teach online for prestigious companies and academic institutions, both in the US and Europe.
