Welcome
A note from our President
The Puerto Rican and Hispanic Day Parade Association of WNY has always sponsored events that are intended to be a celebration inclusive of all Hispanics, and to encourage pride in our Hispanic Heritage. As the Hispanic community (Puerto Rican, Mexican, Dominicans, Cubans, Colombians, and others from the Caribbean, Central America and South America Hispanics) continues to grow right here in the Western New York area, it is with great pride we continue to celebrate our parade and events. The parade is excited to be celebrating it's 19th year anniversary in 2020. We as a community continue to stand strong together, regardless of our race, color, heritage, etc. we celebrate everyone. From last year's parade and previous years, you will notice that we have grown tremendously, and we continue to encourage everyone to always feel the pride as they raise their country flags, sharing their country costumes, music and food when participating in this wonderful celebration of US all.
2019 was the largest parade and event in history. We had well over 2,500 participants from 78 organizations marching with us from WNY, Rochester, Erie PA, Canada, etc. Due to Covid-19, it was announced late in June that NYS is now opened 100%. We did not have enough time to plan a full parade and events at LaSalle Park, but we will still be having a smaller parade with a block celebration down Niagara Street. This is all free to the public.
We invite everyone to mark their calendars and come celebrate the 19th Annual Puerto Rican and Hispanic Day Parade of WNY, Saturday, August 28th, 2021 starting at
11:00am with Flag Raising in front of Buffalo City Hall Niagara Sq. We then will march at 12pm, north on Avenida San Juan (Niagara Street). We will stop at Pennsylvania St. and will have a block party between Hudson St and Pennsylvania Ave. We look forward to seeing you.
Sincerely,
Charles F. Torres
