How do Provo City property tax rates compare to other Utah cities?

General Operations Tax Rate:
The following graphs show the 2010 Provo City general operations portion of the property tax compared to the 2010 general operations portion of property tax in other Utah cities. The general operations portion of the tax is used to fund the general operations of the city. The dark green section of the Provo City bar represents the tax in 2010. The light green section represents where the tax will be in 2011 if the Council takes no action to raise the property tax revenue from the general operations portion of the tax. The yellow section represents the proposed 16% increase to the general operations portion of the tax.

Total City Tax Rate:
The following graphs show the total 2010 Provo City property tax compared to the 2010 property tax of other Utah cities. These comparisons include portions of the property tax related to debt as well as the general operations portion of the tax. Again, the dark green section of the Provo City bar represents the tax in 2010. The light green section represents where the tax will be in 2011 if the Council takes no action to raise the property tax revenue from the general operations portion of the tax. The yellow section represents the proposed 16% increase to the general operations portion of the tax.
