Prof. Paolo Pelosi was awarded as Foundation Fellow of the European Respiratory Society (FERS), recognizing his sustained contribution to research in the respiratory field in August 2014.

Prof. Marcus Schultz is the winner of the European Society of Anaesthesiology - Dräger Prize 2015 for the paper entitled: High versus low positive end–expiratory pressure during general anaesthesia for open abdominal surgery (the PROVHILO trial): a multicentre randomised controlled trial. Lancet. 2014; 384:495–503.
