Transitioning to Faculty Life: A seminar for Postdocs

Great opportunity for postdoctoral fellows - under represented in STEM disciplines- interested in faculty positions.

Ohio State will host a seminar entitled, “Transitioning to Faculty Life:  A Conference for Post-Docs Underrepresented in STEM.”  The conference will begin on the evening of May 31 and conclude on the afternoon of June 2, 2012. We hope you’ll share the attached flyer with any potential faculty, departments, and listservs.

The Big Ten Arts & Sciences and Graduate School Deans are providing support for the conference which has two goals: to  interest post-docs from groups historically underrepresented in STEM fields in pursuing faculty careers and to provide a venue whereby our Big Ten institutions can recruit these post-docs for faculty positions at our institutions.

The CIC is providing the registration website which can be found at www.cic.net/PostDoc<http://www.cic.net/PostDoc> .  The tentative program can be accessed at the registration website.  The CIC Deans are doing their best to also widely promote the seminar; together, we will ensure broad participation in this important program for an often under supported constituency on our campuses.
