• Work as physicist in radiobiology at University of Zürich (Switzerland)
• Professor for mathematics and computer science at Biel School of Engineering since 1977 (today: Berner Fachhochschule - Bern University of Applied Sciences)
  
• Dean of the Computer Science Department at Biel School of Engineering 1980-1992 and 1997-2006
  
• Visiting professor at the University of Colorado (1988 and 1994, one semester each time)
