Après avoir travaillé 4 ans sur un Jeep TJ 2004, j'ai dû lui dire au revoir en juin 2011. Jeep un jour, Jeep toujours, je devais en trouver un autre. J'avais vu des images d'un Jeep complètement différent qui avait fait le Top Truck Challenge 2009 et suis tombé en amour. Je devais trouver un Jeep FC-170.
Et bien laissez moi vous dire que c'est plutôt rare au Canada un Jeep FC. Après 3 mois de recherches intenses, quelques traces sans succès, on m'informe qu'il en traîne un chez un recycleur. C'est par un beau matin d'octobre 2011 que nous sommes allés sauver ce Jeep FC-170 des griffes de la presse à métal. Je démarre donc un projet de restauration utilitaire, c'est à dire que je désire un camion fonctionnel au maximum et non pas un simple show truck. Je prévois de 3 à 5 ans pour terminer le tout. Jeep for life, I just had to find another one. I had stumbled on pictures of a very special Jeep truck that made the Top Truck Challenge 2009 and fell in love. Now I needed to find a Jeep FC-170. Let me tell you, these guys are hard to find in Canada. After 3 months of hard research, a couple of leads that went nowhere, I heard there was one laying around in a junk yard. It's by a cold and very nice 2011 October morning that we saved this Jeep FC-170 from the crusher. I will now start a restoration project (utility style). I don't want a show truck, I want to use it as much as possible. I am planning on 3 to 5 years to get it back on the roads. Take note that the project will start soon.
