Altitude Switch Test

As one line of safety to ensure the second stage does not fire before it is supposed to, Icarus has two altitude switches in line with the capacitors to prevent discharge below 10,000 feet.  These switches were tested today to ensure they operate properly.  A vacuum chamber was constructed and hooked up to the vacuum system.  A vacuum was pulled on the switches, and sure enough, our rudimentary tests showed that they flipped at 14,900 feet.  Hooray success!

The setting of the booster fins' cant angle to 14 minutes was also accomplished today.  All shippable hardware is now ready to be shipped to Wallops Island Flight Facility, which will likely occur next Monday.
